Minutes of the Council Meeting held in the Council Chambers, Braeside Avenue, Ringwood, on Monday 15 September 2014 at 7.30 pm.

The prayer was read by Pastor Dave Moody, Ringwood Church of Christ

 

The Acknowledgement of Country was read by the Mayor.

 

The Mayor extended a welcome to the Public Gallery, and in particular Mr Bill Wilkins, former Mayor and Councillor of the former City of Ringwood and ‘Freeman of the City’ of the City of Maroondah.

 

The Mayor welcomed Mr Kozlowski to Maroondah City Council as the new Chief Executive Officer.  The Mayor spoke of Mr Kozlowski’s previous local government experience as CEO at East Gippsland Shire Council and his earlier roles at Maroondah City Council as Director Organisational Development and Director Corporate and Strategy.

 

The Mayor also took the opportunity of thanking Mr Phil Turner for ably undertaking the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer since the departure of Mr Frank Dixon in July 2014.

1.       In accordance with the provisions of schedule 11, clause 10(b) of the local goVernment act 1989, resolves to temporarily close the following roads on sunday 9 november 2014, from 6.00am to 8.00pm:

·        NORTON ROAD – MT DANDENONG ROAD TO JESMOND ROAD

·        CIVIC SQUARE – AT SOUTH ENTRANCE TO ARNDALE SHOPPING CENTRE CAR PARK TO THE SOUTH WEST CORNER OF AQUAHUB CAR PARK

2.       SEEKS APPROVAL FROM VICROADS AND VICTORIA POLICE FOR PROPOSED CHANGES TO TRAFFIC CONDITIONS

3.       prohibits the consumption or posssession of opened containers of alcohol on sunday 9 november 2014

4.       prohibits smoking on sunday 9 november 2014, at festival

 

 

5.       Approves the prohibition of dogs during the maroondah festival on sunday 9 november 2014 between 10.00am and 6.00pm except for the croydon & district dog obedience club’s demonstration team in the following areas:

·        TOWN PARK

·        NORTON ROAD (FROM MT DANDENONG ROAD TO LEIGH ROAD)

·        CIVIC SQUARE (SOUTH ENTRANCE TO ARNDALE SHOPPING CENTRE CAR PARK TO THE SOUTH WEST CORNER OF THE AQUAHUB CAR PARK)

6.       PROMOTES INFORMATION REGARDING ROAD CLOSURES, ALCOHOL AND SMOKE FREE EVENT AND DOG BAN ON ALL FESTIVAL MARKETING MATERIAL PRIOR TO THE EVENT
